The "Bees Knees" Barn Dance band has kept feet tapping throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas for many years and the individual musicians have a wealth of experience in the folk music field.

"Queen Bee" is Norma Mills who leads the band on piano accordion, plus vocals and guitar. Previously with Pumpkin Pie, Norma enjoys lively, danceable music and light-hearted songs to entertain the audience.

Well known on the folk music scene is Rod Penlington,Gloucester Folk Club organiser for many years. Rod has made many appearances at Folk Festivals, both as a powerful solo singer and one half of the Shanty duo, the Gloucester Diamonds. In the "Bees Knees", Rod is featured mainly on concertina but also plays guitar and gives dancers a well-earned break listening to some of his wide repertoire of songs.

Mark Wallis is known at local music sessions for his vibrant playing of English and Irish tunes on melodeon and mandolin, but he is also more widely remembered as the guitarist with the seventies folk band "Kempion" - a role he resumes with the "Bees Knees".
